Melt and Assay

Williams Gold & Silver is an expert in the Melt and Assay processing of your precious metals – this is what we do today and every day, with honesty, professionalism and personal attention to your needs.

Our Process

We melt and extract a sample of your metal to be tested. All melting is done on-premise, accurately documented, and can be witnessed. Our heightened level of service includes two important procedures that differentiate us from others in the marketplace and give you more: A daily X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) assay equipment check and our 10-day sample retention. Both steps provide you with the added security of knowing that the valuation of your metal is extremely accurate and that there are safeguards in place should any questions arise after your settlement.

XRF

Williams Gold & Silver conducts a thorough in-house, X-ray Fluorescence (XRF). We conduct a daily XRF instrument calibration and verification against the FISCHERSCOPE® X-ray Standard. This ensures that our XRF assay instrument accurately measures all elements that we process. We take this step very seriously! With every settlement and summary statement, we will note the machine verification information for the day of your metal assay.

Fire Assay

We complete all Fire Assays using only agreed-upon Assay specialists located in the U.S. We closely monitor every step of the process and can provide your valuation and settlement within 3-5 business days.
